Dr. Želimir M. Kešetović is a professor of the Faculty of Security Studies, University of Belgrade where he lectures on crisis management as well as on media and communication. Dr. Ž. Kešetović has acquired his PhD from the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade, in 1999 and has held a number of important positions both in academia and state institutions of Serbia since then. He has been a professor of sociology at the National Police College of Serbia, head of the Research and Development Unit and the College Research Fellow of the University of Belgrade Institute of Political Studies, a member of the think tank for reform at the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia after the democratic changes took place in the state in 2000, a member of the Committee of Standards in the field of social security, a member of scientific committees of several international conferences in Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia, editor for the Western Balkan countries in the project World Police Encyclopedia, published by Routledge, the editor-in-chief of the academic journal “Security”. The main research interests of Prof. Ž. Kešetović lay in the fields of sociology of culture, media and communication, security studies, public administration, and criminology. He is publishing widely in the aforementioned fields having authored more than 150 research publications, presenting results of his research in amplitude of national and international research events, as well as in lectures given in a number of universities of Europe.
